2023 Conference Planning

The 2023 Conference Chairman Matt Elliot, President of Bank of America Michigan, is leading an advisory committee of Michigan-based chief executive officers and Chamber leadership to ensure the theme and agenda tackle critical issues.

The Conference will focus on “the Power of &,” which will invite dialogue among speakers and attendees on why Michigan needs an “and” approach instead of “either or” policy solutions. The “and” approach should create a healthy, productive tension among leaders with different points of view. When it comes to Michigan’s greatest issues and opportunities, “the Power of &” brings otherwise polarized sides closer together to provide the needed stimulus for leaders to bring nuanced thinking to problem solving.

Michigan will benefit from an “and” approach when it comes to:

  • Individual Freedom & Collective Action
  • Sustainability & Economic Growth
  • Investing in the Future & Financial Responsibility

The Mackinac Policy Conference – the Detroit Regional Chamber’s annual statewide event – convenes Michigan’s most influential audience to engage in collaborative dialogue on the state’s economic future. Since 1981, the Conference has provided a unique-in-the-nation experience for Michigan’s top business, government, civic, and philanthropic leaders.
