Chamber’s Melanie D’Evelyn Named to DBusiness’ 2021 30 in Their Thirties

May 4, 2021
The Detroit Regional Chamber is proud to celebrate Director of Detroit Drives Degrees Melanie D’Evelyn, who has been named one of DBusiness Magazine’s 30 in Their Thirties. D’Evelyn was recognized for her work to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for students in the Detroit Region, and particularly, her work on the creation of the Detroit Regional Talent Compact. The Compact is a coalition of more than 30 business, academic, and philanthropic leaders who share a common goal to improve education attainment and racial equity. D’Evelyn shared:

“One of the great privileges of working at the Detroit [Regional] Chamber is the power that comes when a business constituency stands for change on the education front. I’m grateful to be situated where I am, doing this work, because business is the primary consumer of talent to make their businesses thrive. It’s been rewarding to make sure the educational institutions that we work with are responsive to the needs businesses have.”
