Quicken Loans Ramps Up Efforts to Help Detroit Get Back to Work

May 4, 2020
Getting people back to work when the time comes won’t be easy. It will require close monitoring of employees’ symptoms to make sure that COVID-19 does not spread in the workplace by asking employees health screening questions daily. And now, there could soon be an app for that.

Quicken Loans, along with Rocket Mortgage and the Rock Family of Companies, has shifted focus to help get Detroiters back to work by increasing safety measures and by helping the city get people tested. With a possible health screening app for employees on the way, they are paving the way for Detroit to get back to work safely.

Helping Metro Detroit Get Tested

After the coronavirus hit Michigan in March, by the end of the month, Quicken Loans and Rock Connections donated their call center operations and team members for appointment schedule for the drive-up COVID-19 testing site at the Michigan State Fairgrounds. The companies also helped to develop the scheduling technology and provided logistical support for the site.

With limitations for testing, the call center has helped many get access to testing. Call 313-230-0505 to schedule an appointment between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. seven days a week.

Developing a Symptom-Check App

The Rock Family of Companies is already preparing for when its 18,000 employees in downtown Detroit will return to work. Right not, only about 2% of Quicken Loans’ workforce has access to on-site facilities. These workers are sent automated text messages with health screening questions to ensure they are safe to come into work.

All Quicken Loans employees may soon take part in answering these same health screening questions in an app form once the “Stay Home, Say Safe” order is lifted. The company is also looking at how to ensure a safe and clean office environment and making sure workers have access to medical care and benefits.

Quicken Loans and the Rock Family of Companies are streamlining health and safety measures as businesses prepare to transition out of remote work. Ensuring the well-being of employees is essential to a smooth transition.
