Detroit Regional Chamber Applauds Michigan Senate For Not Holding Vote On Religious Freedom Legislation

DETROIT, April 28, 2015: Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Vice President of Government Relations Brad Williams released the following statement as the Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the Religious Freedom Restoration Act:

“Amid the global war for talent, Michigan should send a very clear message that all persons are welcome to utilize their talents here. Similar legislation seemingly undermined Indiana’s reputation as a pro-job state in a matter of days. By not acting on this legislation, we are allowing Michigan’s re-emergence as a national economic leader to continue. The Detroit Regional Chamber applauds the decision not to move on these bills and looks forward to partnering with the Governor and Legislature in creating a Michigan where all are welcome to succeed.”
