FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Detroit, August 3, 2023 Developing K.I.D.S. announced today that it has been awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the McGregor Fund to support program operations and building renovations over 3 years.

“We are grateful for the support provided by the McGregor Fund since 2018. They have not only been a source of financial support, but a thought partner, confidant, advocate and champion of the organization. It has been through their grant awards that we’ve expanded our administrative team to enhance my ability to increase awareness of our work and fundraise to sustain the growth of our programs. In 2022, we served 1,058 youth through 10 schools and 2 community locations. The generosity of this sizable grant will continue to support our general operations and renovate our new home that will double the number of youth that we serve annually. ” – Founder, President & CEO Kim Johnson

“At the McGregor Fund, we are thrilled to announce a $1 million grant to support the incredible work of Developing K.I.D.S. Their unwavering dedication to youth development, family engagement, and community support in Detroit aligns perfectly with our mission. This investment aims to empower and uplift youth in Detroit, providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Together, we can build a stronger community and create a brighter future for all.” -Kate Levin Markel, President of the McGregor Fund
