Ed Kornas

Senior Manufacturing Project Engineer, General Motors

Ed KornasEdward Kornas is the senior manufacturing project engineer at General Motors Company (GM), where he has been employed since 1982. He has served as GM’s primary contact with the Workforce and Continuing Education – Engineering & Advanced Technology Department of Macomb Community College.  He also has other GM training responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineering Vehicle Systems organization.

Prior to his current role, Kornas was the Technical Training Manager at the GM Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Center, responsible for developing and administrating a 31-week skilled trades training program for all maintenance personnel transferred to the facility.  This assignment involved working with Wayne County Community College, Control Data Corporation, Industrial Training Corporation and numerous OEMs to deliver technical training courses.

Kornas received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from General Motors Institute in 1982, and later earned a master’s degree in engineering science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1995.
