20 Books And Bandhu Gardens

Bandhu Gardens Community Kitchen bridges the cultures of the Bangladeshi, Yemeni, African American, and White families of our neighborhood through year-round cooking classes, community dinners, and growing food.

Chandler Park Conservancy

The Chandler Park Community HUB community garden will address the food desert in Detroit and provide opportunities for free, nutritious, and locally grown produce to be consumed by residents and Chandler Park stakeholders. Also, it will provide an opportunity to become educated on ways to promote a healthy dietary lifestyle.

Detroit Hispanic Development Corporationoit Hives

Café Fantazma (Translation: Ghost Café) will activate underutilized outdoor community space to create a “ghost cafe,” a delivery-only restaurant or virtual restaurant that will attempt to solve the challenges of COVID-19 to help struggling restaurants expand their customer base.

Family Assistance For Renaissance Men: FARM

FARM’s project will use a previous Land Bank property to serve the community as an employment skills hub for pre-skilled construction trades training opportunities to single fathers in Detroit.

JOURNi

House of Technology will activate two former labs and classrooms, an office, and a closet in the Liberal Arts Building on the Campus at Marygrove. The project will address the disparities of STEM education, digital inclusion, and equity in emerging technological spaces in the city to benefit multiple generations of Detroit residents.

Know Allegiance Nation

Black Men of Promise will be activating half of a two-family home on Detroit’s east side as a training facility and residence for young men ages 18 to 23 who have aged out of foster care or are in challenging environments.

Life Remodeled

The Robotics Lab at the Durfee Innovation Society entails the renovation of the former girls’ shower room in the Durfee Innovation Society into a lab and workshop space for the Durfee robotics team. The Durfee Elementary-Middle School robotics team achieved major success in their inaugural year, and Life Remodeled would like to build them a lab at the Durfee Innovation Society.

Manistique Community Treehouse Center

The Birdwatchers Garden and Learning Hub will be an accessible community space in Jefferson Chalmers for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities to come together and connect with nature while watching and learning about a variety of native bird species and discover nature.

Osborn Neighborhood Alliance

The JoAnn Greenway Project Phase 2 is an innovative neighborhood revitalization initiative that seeks to inject new life into the land, community, and economy of the Osborn neighborhood through green infrastructure.

Spread Art

Fortify: Spread Art Detroit will create a home for artist studios, a theatre, a gallery, a communal kitchen, and living room. Activities will range from open mics, concerts, theatrical performances, rehearsals, art exhibitions, dance showcases, podcasting events, community meetings, film shoots, recording sessions, and events.

The Tuxedo Project

The Tuxedo Street Community Pavilion will reactivate two adjacent lots with safe, accessible “edu-social” spaces that will support the organization’s arts and education programming and increase food security in the neighborhood.
