Statement From Detroit Regional Chamber Applauds Proposed Personal Property Tax Reform

DETROIT, February 25, 2014: Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Vice President of Economic Development-Business Attraction Maureen Krauss issued the following statement on the proposed Personal Property Tax reforms:

“These reforms will bolster business attraction efforts and are welcomed by corporate decision-makers around the nation. Site selectors have long cited the Personal Property Tax as one of the deterrents for investing here, unfairly putting Michigan businesses and manufacturers at a disadvantage nationwide. The great thing is this legislation balances the need to improve Michigan’s business climate while recognizing and supporting the essential services communities provide.”
