Bill G. Schuette

State Representative (R-Midland)

State Rep. Bill G. Schuette is currently serving his second term in the Legislature. He was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. Schuette represents the 95th House District, which includes all of Midland County, and Beaverton, Billings and Tobacco townships in Gladwin County.

Rep. Schuette serves as Chair of the House Rules Committee. He also serves on the House Finance Committee, the House Insurance Committee and the House Judiciary Committee.

At the start of the 2025-26 legislative term, Schuette was appointed Chair of the House Select Committee on Protecting Michigan Employees and Small Businesses. Through his role as Chair, Schuette led discussion and helped advance reforms that protected workers and small businesses owners following a controversial ruling from the Michigan Supreme Court in July of 2024.

Schuette is also a member of the Michigan Legislative Council, a bipartisan, bicameral body of legislators that provides bill drafting, research and other services to members of the Legislature. Just six members of the Michigan House are selected to serve on the council.

Schuette is a lifelong Midlander who attended Midland Public Schools K-12 and graduated from Dow High School. He earned his B.S and M.A. with honors from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
