Doug Rothwell is president and CEO of Business Leaders for Michigan, the state’s business roundtable, composed of top executives from the state’s largest job providers and dedicated to making Michigan a top 10 state for economic growth.
He previously served as an executive in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, having served three governors in two different states and two Fortune 500 companies — General Motors Co. and Bank of America’s credit card subsidiary.
Rothwell is chair of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), an organization he founded and led, and serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the U.S. Council on Competitiveness. He previously chaired Gov. Rick Snyder’s transition team.
