The Detroit Regional Chamber is proud to celebrate 2026 Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame inductee, Devin Scillian. On Sept. 1, Chamber leaders attended the Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ Evening of Excellence, honoring Scillian’s significant contribution to media in the Michigan community alongside several other accomplished journalists.
As a journalist, author, and musician, Scillian has been vital to sharing stories in the Detroit Region, and highlighting the importance of journalism and the role journalists play in a healthy democracy and vibrant society, while his weekend news show Flashpoint was a must-watch to understand the issues facing the Region and state.
Scillian also brought his hall of fame interviewing skills to the Detroit Regional Chamber’s biggest stages from the State of the Region to the Detroit Policy Conference to the Mackinac Policy Conference where he interviewed the events’ biggest national speakers.
“I can’t appreciate enough Devin’s standards of not having guests on his program that he knew would not tell the truth. That is journalism,” said Sandy K. Baruah, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Detroit Regional Chamber. “It’s not both sides; it’s understanding what is factual and presenting that to the public, and no one I know has done that better than Devin Scillian.”
