Detroit Regional Chamber PAC August 2024 Primary Election Endorsements

June 12, 2024

DETROIT (June 12, 2024) – Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) announced its bipartisan endorsements for the August 2024 primary elections. The Chamber PAC announced endorsements in 51 races –  eight in the U.S. House of Representatives, 42 in the Michigan House of Representatives, and David Coulter for Oakland County Executive.

“The Detroit Regional Chamber works with legislators across Michigan, and the endorsements made by the Chamber PAC reflect this,” said Brad Williams, the Chamber’s Vice President of Government Relations. “The Chamber PAC comprises a bipartisan group of business leaders with one goal: advance candidates that will advance the state of Michigan forward as the best place to do business.”

These endorsements are effective for the Aug. 6 primary and will be reconsidered before the general election.

U.S. House of Representatives

“As the Government Relations team and the Chamber’s membership continue to engage with them, these bipartisan leaders have proven their ability to work across the aisle to advance Michigan’s business interests,” said Williams. “The Chamber greatly appreciates these congressional leaders’ ‘open door’ policy to our team and Chamber members.”

  • 9th Congressional District – Rep. Lisa McClain (R)
  • 10th Congressional District – Rep. John James (R)
  • 11th Congressional District – Rep. Haley Stevens (D)

“Congressman John James continues to impress the Chamber PAC by being an active listener in the community and promoting constituent services across the aisle, demonstrating his abilities as a member of Congress,” said Williams.

The Chamber PAC will continue to engage with the open seats in Congress throughout the summer, prioritizing candidates who are bipartisan thought leaders who can mirror the strong abilities of these endorsed incumbents.

Michigan House of Representatives

“With the new voter-enacted changes to term limits, this election cycle is historic in the Michigan House of Representatives,” said Williams. “For the first time, we are seeing incumbents running in over 100 seats. This allowed the Chamber PAC to consider voting records and interactions with these legislators to a greater extent than ever before, setting the stage for another cycle of dependable candidates.”

The Chamber has endorsed 19 Democrats and 23 Republicans for the Michigan House of Representatives.

The Chamber PAC is proud to offer him its endorsement again.”
