International Women’s Day

International Women's Day 2023

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated every year on March 8, honoring women’s achievements and supporting the movement for gender equality.

Popular around the world, the day is now dedicated to recognizing women’s leadership at all levels and advancing gender equality as a civil rights and socioeconomic imperative.

International Women’s Day also continues to advocate for gender equality in business, cultivating discussions on its importance in thriving economies and communities.

In recognition of this important celebration, the Detroit Regional Chamber hosted its fifth annual International Women’s Day lunch on Thursday, March 2. The event featured an uplifting and empowering program that embodied the 2023 theme, #EmbraceEquity, and focused on women forging change via technology and sustainability in communities, workplaces, and beyond.
