Oakland University’s ESL Institute Hosts US State Department Delegation of International English Teachers for Workshop on Social and Emotional Learning

The ESL Institute at Oakland University offers Metro-Detroit adult-learners a unique world of options to strengthen their English as a Second Language skills to pursue a degree or advance in your career!

The ESL Institute also runs customized short-term American Culture and English language programs for groups.
As a premier English language preparation program, we offer:

  • Intermediate and Advanced ESL Courses focusing on reading, writing, conversation, and presentation skills for academic and business purposes
  • Short, intensive year-round 8-week terms. Students can take one, two, or three classes per term.
  • Small in person class sizes held on campus Tuesday through Thursday, 8am-12:30pm
  • Placement into the appropriate course level based on test scores from the OU ESL Online Placement test
  •  A stimulating campus setting where students will have access to many campus resources
  •  The option to continue on for an academic degree
  • A convenient location in the heart of Oakland County
  • $900 per course
  • All instructors are TESL certified (Teaching English as a Second Language) and our courses are accredited by English USA, the American Association of Intensive English Programs
