Ambassador John Rakolta Jr. and Wayne State University Board of Governors Member Shirley Stancato will serve as Chairs of the 2024 Detroit Policy Conference. This year’s event will focus on initiatives and policy prescriptions needed to grow the state and region’s population and make it an attractive destination for talent and business development.

Conference Chairs Rakolta and Stancato lead the Governor’s Growing Michigan Together Council. Rakolta and Stancato will bring to the Detroit Policy Conference their experience leading this broad coalition focused on Michigan’s critical challenge – attracting and retaining population. The Council was announced by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer at the Chamber’s 2023 Mackinac Policy Conference.
