International Women’s Day 2023

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

In recognition of this important celebration, the Detroit Regional Chamber hosted its fifth annual International Women’s Day lunch on Thursday, March 2. The event featured an uplifting and empowering program that embodied the 2023 theme, #EmbraceEquity, and focused on women forging change via technology and sustainability in communities, workplaces, and beyond.

Refuge for Nations is a nonprofit social enterprise committed to empowering refugee women across Metro Detroit. They provide all the support needed for immigrant and refugee women to not just survive, but to thrive in the new life ahead of them. From breaking down language barriers with their English as a Second Language courses to learning skilled trades that lead to employment, Refuge for Nations empowers women with the tools needed to build a meaningful life for themselves and their families.
