Angela Hospice Provides Free Workshops on Estate Planning This August

July 5, 2023
We all think we’re fully prepared and protected when it comes to our assets, but, more often than not, we haven’t completed key documentation for our family to have after we pass, which can cause extra pain and distress to our loved ones.

Angela Hospice’s upcoming Estate Planning workshops hope to ease that burden and make sure those who attend are covered across the board, with no stone left unturned. The two free workshops will be led by Esther Acosta, Attorney and Counselor at Law, who will cover wills, trusts, asset protection, estate planning, Medicaid planning, and guardianship.

“Most people don’t think about this sort of planning until it’s too late,” said Jennifer Dale, Angela Hospice Director of Community Outreach and Philanthropy. “These workshops will not only be a great time to double check you have everything in order, but an excellent starter course for those who have yet to begin to prepare these documents. Everyone will leave knowing so much important and vital information.”

Both workshops will be free and open to the community, and take place at Angela Hospice on Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 17 from 6-8 p.m. Guests will learn in a non-intimidating environment about what is the best way to maintain control of their assets, and give control to those they trust most before they’re unable to grant access.

Educating the community has been a vital part of the Angela Hospice mission since their founding in 1985, making sure that those they serve, whether it be patients, families, or the community at large, feel prepared for every aspect of end-of-life. Angela Hospice has had a passion for serving and educating for decades, and has done so through wide outreach, going far beyond their Livonia location.

Acosta is the founder of Acosta Law Firm, PLLC, where she focuses on estate planning, asset protection, elder law, and Medicaid planning; and has been a member of the Angela Hospice board since 2020.
