The Board also announced that Cynthia Ford will continue in the position of Vice Chair. A Trustee since the Foundation’s inception in 2003, she is a past Board Chair and is an active volunteer leader in many local, regional and national organizations. She resides in Grosse Pointe Farms.
“It is the highest possible honor to be chosen Chair by my colleagues on this outstanding Board, with a mission so close to my family’s heart, to succeed David Page, a man I have long considered a role model,” said Friedman. “Fred Minturn and Cynthia Ford bring extraordinary skill sets and experience which round out our ability to lead the strategy of this Foundation, as it grows to help more Michigan children have more days to play, nights to dream and time to just be kids.”
“This Foundation is poised to establish itself, nationally, as a leader in funding programs that benefit children’s health in ways that meet community needs like never before” said Tony Werner, President and CEO of the Foundation. “Three community leaders – Matt, Fred and Cynthia – will help our Board put our staff in a position to help kids in exceptional and innovative new ways.”
