Detroit Attraction and Retention Bus Tour

One of our main goals at City Institute is to help to attract and retain talent by helping potential and current employees understand, appreciate, and connect to the Detroit community. We have worked with thousands of companies and organizations to take 150,000 people on attraction and retention tours since we began in 2005. 80% have been current or potential residents, employees, or college students in the region. Of those tour attendees surveyed:

Attraction & Retention Bus Tour
Have you ever been asked the question: Why Detroit? This tour will answer that question with gusto! City Institute will take you on an insider’s tour of greater downtown and beyond. From unique small businesses, art galleries, specialty restaurants, and shops to world-renowned architecture and cultural institutions, historic neighborhoods, and unparalleled public spaces, Detroit is full of unique assets that make it an amazing place to call home. Plus,with billions of dollars in investment in recent years and more on its way there is no better time to be in Detroit. This tour will help locals and newcomers see the city in a new light and help them be excited and informed about living, working and engaging in Detroit.
–Tour Duration: 3.5 Hours
–Ticket Inclusions: Your ticket includes tour guide narrative, lunch from a locally owned restaurant, and motor coach transportation. Your purchase of a ticket or tickets to this tour also support City Institute’s ability to offer free public tours such as Detroit’s Black History by the People That Lived It Walking Tour and our Redlining, Racism, and Segregation in Detroit Virtual Tour.
–Check-in: The tour begins promptly at the start time. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour and check in with your guide. No need to print your ticket. Arrive a few minutes early to check-in and give the guide your name. That’s it! If your plans change and you can’t make it, please cancel your booking at least 48 hours prior to the tour date to open up your spot to another participant.
–Weather Policy: Tours will occur rain or shine, unless weather prohibits transportation or adversely affects our partners on the date of the tour for the time of the tour. Weather related cancellation or ticket transfer requests will not be approved unless submitted at least 72 hours in advance of the event start time. If a severe weather event causes the tour to be canceled, City Institute will offer to transfer participant tickets to another date or provide a refund.
–Accessibility: We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. To request accommodation or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact chris@thecityinstitute.com at least 2 weeks prior to your desired tour date.
–Parking: Free and secure parking is available in the marked Tech Town lot at the northeast corner of Cass and Amsterdam. If you see street parking, go ahead and snag it.
