The Ins and Outs of Personnel Security Clearances
The federal government requires individuals to possess security clearances to perform a variety of functions–including many functions often performed by contractors. Obtaining a personnel security clearance, or PCL, can expand a contractor’s bidding opportunities in the federal marketplace.
This training will provide an overview of the requirements and processes for obtaining a PCL, including:
- The three main types of PCLs for contractor employees
- Big-picture eligibility factors for PCLs
- Overview of the SF-86 questionnaire
- Polygraphs, medical and/or credit checks
- Background investigation
- Adjudication and appeal
- Interim and final PCLs
- Maintaining the PCL
