DEGC Providing $7.25M in COVID-19 Relief to Detroit Small Businesses

October 7, 2020
More than 900 Detroit small businesses will receive COVID-19 relief funding from the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. (DEGC). These businesses will receive grants from $7.25 million funded by the Michigan Small Business Restart Program. The recipients had applied for this funding earlier this summer and will be notified by the DEGC about the distribution of funds soon.

According to The Detroit News, the Restart program is the second round of small business relief funding provided by the DEGC with support from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. The Michigan Small Business Relief Program launched in March was the first. Between these programs, Detroit small businesses have received more than $11 million in aid since April. The majority of grants awarded through the Restart program went to minority- and women-owned businesses.
